So I thought I would feature one of my favourite spots in Camden. The willow trees that fall over Camden Lock never fail to leave me awe struck. I know that the area has become an over commercialised swamp of tourists and overpriced ***insert any cuisine or niche hipster centric item here***. But when I need to think, I feel really calm when walking along the river alone.
This is also a perfect opportunity to share a track from one of my favourite live albums. ‘Sarah Vaughan, Live at Mr Kellys’ was recorded in 1957. It was one of the first albums I listened to when familiarising myself with Jazz and needless to say the power of her voice blew me away. If you want to check her out, also check out the Album ‘Sarah Vaughan Live in Japan’. When she sings and plays the piano on ‘The Nearness of you’ my heart melts. Seriously … check it out <3

Hi Folks ! Hope all is well
Incase you haven’t noticed from the ascetic of this platform, I love love love love LOVE autumn and autumnal shades. Greens, warm browns, beiges = yyaaasssss. Hhaha. This is the first in a series of outfits that I have styled with inspiration from this season.
There are many musicians who have composed beautiful songs about this time of year. And I think this is a fab oppurtunity to share some of my favourites. Lets starts with the tune that is a part of any Jazz Musicians bread and butter (hopefully…). ‘Autumn Leaves’. This was one of the first Jazz Standards that I learned with developing my repertoire. I had studied it and sang it for so long that I grew tired of it. But then I found the original French version and my fondness for the tune returned.
The music was written in 1945 by Hungarian-French composer Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert.
The American songwriter Johnny Mercer wrote English lyrics in 1947.
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

What I learned on my break from blogging
Hello ! Welcome ! I hope that all is swell in your life at the moment. And thanks for stopping by to checking my little ol’ blog 😉 So, I thought I would take a moment to let you know why I took a break from blogging and what my intensions for this platform are going forward.
At the beginning of the year, I decided to take a little time to reflect on the content that I was creating. At the time, I was extremely proud of the platform that I had built. I was so grateful for the support and love that I had received from people in my community. And the majority of those who talked to me about ‘CorynaCoryna’ were positive or gave me their constructive criticism in a respectful way. (Thank you :D)
However, now and then I would meet the opinions of those who felt negatively about Fashion and the Fashion Industry. They would speak to me of their distain for the quick trends, the vanity and the elitism that is present in the Fashion Industry as though I represented it and supported it. I felt a bit stereo typed.
I kept thinking, ‘Aren’t these things present across the majority of the industries that engage heavily with the media?’ …
For example; Music. When thinking of a Musician I would find it close minded to assume that they only engage with the trendy tracks in the top 40. That their desire to share their art is just attention seeking instead of a way of connecting with others and expressing themselves.
Not all Musicians value the same things. Not all bloggers value the same things. Not all creative individuals value the same things. And I realised that it was silly for me to seek validation from those who have such a one dimensional view of those who enjoy Fashion and Personal Style anyway. People with these interests are multifaceted individual.
I enjoy many forms of creativity and this is one of them. And although I’m going to shamelessly continue to have fun with it, I’m also going to branch out a bit and share some of my other interests …#StandBy 😉
Thank you again for the support and for visiting ‘CorynaCoryna’.
Winter is well and truly here and I s’pose all that is left to do is embrace it !
Though this chilly season brings grey skies, white show and cool breezes, I still love to wear warm toned outfits. (It suits my Caribbean skin much more :P)
I am wearing my favourite jumpsuit.
1 – It’s green (I love green … alot)
2 – It goes with all of the warm toned pieces I own
3 – Did I mention it’s green ?!?!
To keep my feet toasty, I recently invested in these lovely boots. They go with almost everything I wear and will keep me safe from the elements – an investment well made !
Its 2016 !
I was going to write a post reviewing 2015 and sharing my plans for 2016. BUT, where’s the mystery in that, eh ? 😉
I suppose one of the achievements of last year was to start a blog. And boom ! Here we are.
Thank you so much for reading my blog. Your support is very much appreciated. I’m proud of what I’ve created with this platform and I am exited to develop it further (Watch this space !)
As we delve deeper and deeper into Winter, I thought it smart to invest in a new thick winter coat. This checkered oversized Coat definitely does the trick !
If you have any requests (Music, Beauty or otherwise), leave me a comment or get in touch
Happy New Year !
You know those days when you just CBA ? … (Can’t Be Asked/Assed)
Well, on those days, I prioritise one thing and one thing only: Quick comfort.
When I don’t really like spending too much time getting ready, I find easier ways to look somewhat put together. Some examples:
Almost all of the pieces in this look were purchased in charity shops or on the mobile app ‘DEPOP’ ssssoooo no there is no tracing to be done !
Isn’t this street art amazing ?! #JustAnotherDayInShoreditch
When you’ve just finished ‘jjzjzjzjzujzzjing your hair before a photo is taken ! …
Location: Shoreditch Market
It may be cold outside, but I don’t intend to wear any garments that match the grey weather 😉
I L.O.V.E this coat. I feel like I’m going to live in this coat for the next 5 months; lets see how much use I can get out of this baby ! I’ve been eager to keep my hair protected from the effects of the chilli breezes with protective styles. Dry hair = Weak hair
#FunFact – The more moisture the hair can retain, the higher the chances are that your hair will retain length.
This hat from H&M is a fab way of accessorising an outfit while keeping my hair protected from the rainy sky.
Below is my bestie Jamie-Lee. She has an amazing sense of self and style. <3

This t-shirt though, haha !
What a perfect and true statement. When ever I invest in a new coloured piece, I’m always tempted by the black version. Black = Easy + Chic <3
Here is an outfit I created for a casual day of running errands in lovely London town. Although the sun is out less, I still like to shelter my eyes from the brightness of day (especially on a Monday morning, haha).
You can find some of the items linked below
Yup, my eyeballs are faulty ! #Genetics #IForgiveMyParents
So, I have made this most of it. Glasses are an epic accessory and my bad eyesight gives me a legit reasons to wear them (unlike all the ‘try hard hipsters’ out there! :P)
As time has passed my eyesight has gotten worse, which has been a perfect excuse to get a new pair of glasses ever year. I usually buy my frames online and have my opticians put in the lenses.
Here they are !
2013 – Ebay
2014 – Ebay
2016 – ASOS (Prescription lenses to be added) Out of stock
This dress is my favourite clothing purchase of the season … without a doubt !
The high neck and long sleeves make it perfect for Autumn and Winter. And it’s so easy to wear this dress for any occasion. You can go from styling it with a pair of Converse trainers, a leather jacket and a backpack to throwing on some high heels and a tailored blazer for a more formal affair (As I have here).
This was the dress I wore in the photography with the band TROPE.
